CHARACTER TRAITS OF A LABRADOR RETRIEVER

In general, Labrador Retrievers come in all levels of enthusiasm (just like children). Some are happy couch potatoes from an early age, others must have lots of regular exercises to keep physically and mentally fit, but most are somewhere in between – happy to be your companion, whatever you are doing.

Labs are famously friendly, cordial, and devoted companions. They are excellent family dogs, due to their deep need for human companionship, and with more than enough love to go around, they easily bond with family members and neighbors alike.

Labrador retriever puppies are intelligent and easy to train, mostly because of their desire to work with people. They can be protective of their families and homes, but should not be considered as guard dogs. They are happy to greet company at home and welcome new friends on their walks & trips to the store with their charming smiles.

Sire: HARVEY & Dam: RITA

Harvey is our stunning, light yellow Labrador retriever. His looks will take your breath away and his personality will wow you! He is a people person all the way. Loves to get as close to you as possible and rewards you with tremendous affection.

Rita is an affectionate, driven girl who loves to take part in family activities, play fetch and snuggle up on the couch. She’s compliant and eager to please. This girl has an incredible nose with the perseverance to match. This dog is the total package – athleticism, sweet disposition, easy to train and good looks to top it off!

I can’t tell you how excited we are about these puppies. As we have started working with them we are already falling in love. Our puppy curriculum began on day 3 and continues through week 8. It’s such a thrill to see them grow and mature while working through new experiences every day as they learn to trust humans at their own pace. The wonderful results are puppies that are extremely well socialized and fearless when it comes to everyday challenges with their new families. You will love these little bundles of fluff!

Bert

Bert is on the lazy side. He’s not opposed to playing, but he’s even less opposed to sleeping. He’s not easily flustered and doesn’t make a lot of noise.

Billy

Billy is quick to figure out what you want him to do. He likes to explore new environments and engage with people.

Clarence

Available

Clarence is a bit of a control freak. He makes very efficient use of his nose, and isn’t happy until he’s explored every square inch of his environment and everything in it.

Ernie

Ernie has a lot of energy and is a total people person.

George

George is calm and confident and very even-tempered. Happy to play with toys and with others, but happy to watch while falling asleep, too.

Harry

Harry is rather passive by nature. He’s open to playing, but he’s usually on his back. He never rushes into anything, but he always gets there eventually.

Mary

Reserved

Mary is alert and smart and very playful. She is usually the last to fall asleep and the first to wake up, because she doesn’t want to miss anything.

Sam

Available

Sam has a bit of a grumpy air about him (which is, of course, adorable). He will often watch for a minute or two before joining in an activity, as if he wants to make sure he doesn’t look silly.

Violet

Violet is a force to be reckoned with. She doesn’t do anything halfway. When she plays, she plays hard. When she wants something, she tells you.

ZuZu

ZuZu is sociably independent and doesn’t tend to get anxious. She’s a good balance of everything: playful, relaxed, friendly, patient, and smart.

STARTED DOGS

From time to time we have pups that we have kept ourselves to use as breeders. Occasionally, after testing, we decide the dog will make a better family pet than a breeder.

There are also times when families must use our Rehoming Guarantee, which allows those who have purchased puppies from us to return them if they are no longer able to keep them.

When either of these things happen, and after we’ve made sure they’re ready to join a new family, we offer them here.

ROCKY

Rocky is two and a half years old, fully house trained and crate trained. He walks well on a leash, sits, downs and places on command. He’s been through a three week board and train program with an excellent professional trainer. Once Rocky he knows the rules, he is all around a very easy-going, low-maintenance companion. Like all young Labs, he needs daily exercise and mental stimulation through working on his commands He’s also neutered and fully vaccinated.

MAY

May is the most cat-like dog I’ve ever met! She’s from our Harvey & MayBelle litter that was born 12/20/2022. She’s very quiet, and can occasionally be standoffish with new people. She loves to snuggle with you on the couch and follow you from room to room as you go about your day. She’s not overly needy or pushy for affection, she’s just curious about what you’re up to! May is the dog for cat people who are allergic to cats. She’s up to date on vet care and has not been spayed.

OUR SUMMER LOVIN' LITTER

Harvey is a delightful member of our family. His entire life’s ambition is simply to be as close to you as possible and then some. He is the most affectionate guy we could ever ask for, with a calm and patient disposition (though he does LOVE breakfast a lot). He has sired 40 puppies in the three years he’s been with us, who have all become beloved members of new families who can’t imagine life without them. We’re so blessed to have found him, and we can’t wait for you to meet his kids!

Rita is an incredibly devoted and attentive girl. She is always 100% focused on making you happy, whether that’s by bringing you back the ball as fast as possible, or sitting perfectly still by your side. I’ve never seen a dog so entirely committed to her person’s pleasure. I doubt she’s ever engaged in anything remotely resembling mischief. She’s a pure delight.

We’ve had one other litter from this pairing, and they are phenomenal dogs. One went to a professional trainer in Montana at 10 weeks old, and he tells us he’s one of the best dogs he’s ever worked with, and his family loves the little guy to pieces. Two of them are hobby hunting companions in Ohio and Texas, and two are in training to be service dogs for veterans in South Carolina and Michigan, and the rest are beloved family companions. We have every confidence that this litter will be as intelligent and loving as their predecessors.
